恻隐之心，人皆有之

恻隐之心，人皆有之；羞恶之心，人皆有之；恭敬之心，人皆有之；是非之心，人皆有之。恻隐之心，仁也；羞恶之心，义也；恭敬之心，礼也；是非之心，智也。仁义礼智，非由外铄我也，我固有之也，弗思耳矣。

同情别人的心，人人都有；知道羞耻的心，人人都有；对别人恭敬的心，人人都有；明辨是非的心，人人都有；同情心属于仁，羞恶心属于义，恭敬心属于礼，是非心属于智。仁义礼智，不是外人强加给我的，是我本来就有的，不过是没有去思考追求罢了。

Everyone has sympathy, sense of shame, sense of respectfulness, and sense of right and wrong.   Sympathy belongs to benevolence; the sense of shame belongs to justice; the sense of respectfulness belongs to rites; the sense of right and wrong belongs to wisdom.  Benevolence, justice, rites and wisdom are not forced to me by others; they are inherent in me.  Nevertheless, I haven’t reflected on them yet.
