山行

          杜牧

远上寒山石径斜，

白云生处有人家。

停车坐爱枫林晚，

霜叶红于二月花。

Driving by the Mountain

Up the faraway mountain the stone steps look steep.

Homes have been built where the white clouds form and rise.

I like to stop my carriage and sit through the maplewood twilight.

Its frost-touched leaves turn as vividly red As Early Spring Delight.
