The spirit of reform and innovation
This is a spirit of the current times. It is rooted in China’s experience of reform and opening up that began in the late 1970s under the leadership of the CPC. This spirit means keeping abreast with the times, forging ahead with determination, and being courageous in exploring new paths.
As pioneers of reform and opening up, reformers must respond to the call of the times and have the determination to cut trails through mountains and build bridges over rivers, thus paving the way for further advance. With the determination to move on and the confidence to win, they will drive reform and opening up to a deeper level. They need to act with initiative, take on responsibilities, and ensure that reform and innovation progresses on a sustainable basis. They are courageous people who will never slow the pace of reform and opening up, and are meticulous in every action they take.
